Ultra Hard Construction
The Shimano BK-007Z features a highly durable EVA and PE construction designed to resist deformation under heavy loads.
Shimano specifies an approximate load-bearing capacity of 100 kg based on actual measurements. The rigid construction helps the bag retain its shape when additional equipment is stacked on top during transportation.
The stated load capacity is a reference value rather than a guaranteed rating. The lid should not be used as a seat or step.
Two Removable Rod Rests
One of the main features of the BK-007Z is its two included removable rod rests.
The rod rests are designed to accommodate different rod diameters while minimizing unwanted movement. Rubber components around the opening help stabilize thinner rods, while the two-stage lower structure reduces movement around the rod grip.
The opening accommodates rods up to 40 mm in diameter.
The rod rests can be removed when not required, making the bag easier to transport and allowing the setup to be adapted to different fishing styles.
Additional rod rests can be added separately, allowing the system to be expanded to up to four rod rests using Shimano BK-041Z accessories.
Reel-Foot Slot for Improved Rod Stability
The rod rest features a dedicated reel-foot slot, allowing a rod to remain equipped with its reel while being placed securely into the holder.
This improves stability and makes it easier to temporarily store a ready-to-fish rod while changing lures, organizing tackle or handling another setup.
Integrated Inner Tray
The Shimano BK-007Z includes a practical inner tray for organizing smaller fishing accessories, lures and tools.
The tray is securely held inside the main compartment and can remain in position during transportation. A dedicated top-access zipper allows quick access to the tray without having to completely open the main bag.
This is particularly useful on a boat, where quick access to frequently used tackle can make fishing more efficient.
Molded Lid with Two-Way Closure
The molded lid is designed to help drain water while also reducing the risk of tools falling from the top surface.
It uses a hook-and-loop and buckle closure system, allowing anglers to choose between:
- quick access using the hook-and-loop closure;
- more secure closure with the buckle during transportation.
The lid can also be removed using the buckles, making cleaning easier.
Stable Rubber Feet for Boat and Shore Use
The bottom of the BK-007Z features raised three-dimensional rubber feet designed to improve grip on wet and uneven surfaces.
They provide improved stability on:
- wet boat decks;
- rocky shorelines;
- uneven ground;
- wet fishing platforms.
This makes the bag particularly suitable for saltwater fishing environments where water and slippery surfaces are common.
Reinforced Bottom Construction
Shimano has increased the thickness of the most abrasion-prone edges of the bottom by approximately two times, improving durability in demanding environments.
The BK-007Z is therefore suitable not only for boat use but also for rocky shore fishing, where conventional soft bags can be exposed to significant abrasion.
Water-Resistant Shoulder Strap
The bag features a water-resistant shoulder strap designed to resist water absorption and make cleaning easier after exposure to bait, saltwater and other contaminants.
The strap length can be adjusted with a buckle, allowing the bag to be carried over the shoulder or by hand.
D-Rings for Fishing Tools
Two D-rings are positioned on the front of the bag for attaching frequently used fishing tools and accessories.
They can be used with:
- line cutters;
- pliers;
- carabiner reels;
- fishing tools;
- other frequently accessed accessories.
This keeps essential equipment within easy reach during a fishing session.
Ideal for Boat Fishing and Offshore Fishing
The rigid body, stable base and integrated rod rests make the Shimano BK-007Z particularly suitable for:
- boat fishing;
- offshore fishing;
- saltwater spinning;
- shore jigging;
- jigging;
- rocky shore fishing;
- saltwater lure fishing;
- organized tackle storage and transportation.
